Bibelot’s Favourite Places to Eat Vegan

It’s meat-free Monday! Giving up meat for just one day a week has a profoundly positive affect on our planet, and our health.

Limp lettuce and tasteless tofu are thankfully a thing of the past! And for those of you who choose to eat ethically as a way of life, or are trying to reduce the meat intake in your diet, it’s never been easier. It’s also never been easier to enjoy a meal out, with new vegetarian and vegan restaurants popping up all over the place, and other restaurants adding meat-free options to their menus. It does not necessarily mean that your favorite restaurant will stop serving you favorite sausages in dcw casings. You should just know that there are some other options to have healthy and substantial meal.

Here’s a list of some of our favourite places to grab a delicious plate of vegan food in London.

Dig in!

Mildred’s

Originally just based in soho, Mildred’s have recently opened another restaurant in Camden, and now you can book in advance. The menu has a diverse selection of delectable vegetarian and vegan dishes, with a good mixture of both healthy and naughty (heavenly chocolate cake, we’re looking at you) to satisfy whichever mood you’re in.

Manna

One of London’s oldest vegetarian restaurants, Manna offers a brilliantly varied, and mouth-watering choice of (entirely vegan) food. Tucked away in leafy green Primrose Hill, it’s not cheap, but if you’re looking for a classy and mellow vibe, with flavoursome food, you won’t be disappointed.

Loving Hut

You know those evenings when you desperately crave a Chinese, but you don’t want to settle for slimy tofu and boring veg? Let us introduce Loving Hut!

They offer a vast selection of 100% vegan takes on traditional Chinese dishes; Dim Sum, sweet and sour chicken balls, tempura prawns and crispy shredded beef, all made with a delicious, cruelty free soy-based meat alternative, with a texture so similar to meat, it could put the extra-strict vegan off! With generous portions, and reasonable prices, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Who said being vegan was boring?

The Gate

From the outside, The Gate looks like another gastro pub, but inside, the menu couldn’t be further away. Expect healthy, fresh and intriguing gourmet veggie and vegan cuisine. The scrumptious food in this place will satisfy even the most stubborn of carnivores. Not a Quorn sausage in sight.

Vanilla Black

For a sophisticated and elegant vegetarian experience, a visit to Michelin star Vanilla Black is a must. When you walk into the luxurious townhouse tucked away off Chancery Lane, you’re given no clues you’re about to enter a flesh-free zone. The menu boasts some of the most wonderful and unconventional meat-free dishes our palates have ever had the pleasure to sample. Flavours indulgent and adventurous, presentation tantaslising and refined, each piece like a plate of art. All we can say is… yum!
