I started my screen printing career 7-8 years ago now and have noticed that Birds seem to have popped up quite a few times over the years in my work!!
One of my early screen prints was called ‘Birds at play’ and this was originally published by The Art Group and sold in Habitat.
It then popped onto the back of a cat for a few designs and has recently been added to a few mugs in a collaboration with Make International.
I love adding birds to my pictures amongst Scandinavian style patterns.
I enjoyed designing a quirky seagull screen print after a summer holiday in Cornwall. It’s titled ‘Which way to St Ives?’
I’ve drawn several chickens for screen prints along with a Scandinavian Flowery Peacock, now also featuring on a mug and a glass.
My latest bird has been my colourful Toucan, which combines my love of colour and stripes! This also appears on a new mug, coming out soon, but I’ve also screen printed this as a toy…
